If you read last weeks post it was a little about myself. So this week, I want to ask you, why would you choose me to be your photographer?
In all my years of research on how to become a better business owner, these were some of the questions that were asked. Who are you? Why chose you? Who is your ideal client? You know all the little questions that are actually the big ones. I never paid attention. I just wanted to take all the pictures and make all the money. Guess what my friends, it doesn't happen that way. Well, for most people like you and I. So anyways, I thought it would be fun to share what I have learned about myself as a person answering these questions for my clients.
Reasons I think I am for you.....
So the short answer is this.
I AM REAL.
Honestly I feel like most photographers are pretty down to earth people. Like most of us do it for the joy of it first and then maybe as a full time profession later. But me, I just dont think I really want to do it as a full time career or my main income. Now people, that may change later on down the road. One day I may need to push it harder. However, right now I am so worried that if I do go full time, I will lose the joy of it. And once that joy is gone, so is the passion behind the picture. Like I feel like I would just get into the feeling of dread because I am doing exactly what the rest of the world is. Just clicking a button. That's not what I want to do. I want to connect. Yes this introverted redhead wants to connect with the people that I put in front of my camera. I want it to be a happy experience. Not a dreaded, crap I have to get my pictures taken.
So with all that being thrown at you, what makes me real? Well a heartbeat is the obvious answer, but it is because I do me. I am a little on the crazy side and a lot on the loud side. I have no problem whatsoever showing up in leggings and birks and moving you and your 1100 lbs horse where it needs to be. I am a Mom. I have insecurities just like the rest of the Women out there. I have confidence issues just like you as well. But I know how to work with you because of those similarities. I am knowledgeable about your equine family as well as your pups and oh lets add the kids in. I am patient, but only when I am taking your pictures. Any other time, well ooppss. Oh well. I dont rush you. Even if it means we have to stay a little longer. Poses are the thing of the past. Candid is where it is at. I mean it is supposed to bring Flashbacks correct. Like you want to see those pictures on your wall and remember that moment in time. That accidently shot that I got because you all were in your own little moment. That's why me.

Life is not meant to be posed. It is not meant to do the same thing everyday. Nor is it meant to be done the same way as everyone else. It is meant to be lived fully. The way you need to live in your heart. I had to learn this all the hard way. And yes I was always learning in the meantime, but some heartbreak was in the middle of all of it. And a lot of disappointments and feeling like a failure. I do not feel like that anymore. Well maybe every now and again. But I use it to learn again. I realize my style is not for everyone and that is ok. I also realize that my personality is not for everyone also, but it will not stop me from doing my thing. I love taking pictures and I LOVE LOVE showing women how beautiful they really are.
So that's it in a nutshell.
