I spent four years traveling around to different dirt floors.
I mean we went all over. Rodeo gave my Family and I so many opportunities to see different places. Because let's face it, we would not have made the time to go had it not been for Rodeo. I am forever thankful that my Daughter chose this as her sport of choice. I am so thankful that we were in a spot where we were able to give her this opportunity. The friends we made and still have today is one not too many people have. I will say in every post if I have too, if you ever have the chance to Rodeo for yourself or your children, especially your children, please do. You will never regret it.
You can imagine
how I felt when I was allowed to come and shoot the first NCHSRA Rodeo of the year. Seeing all those Kiddos made my heart leap with joy. In the words of Oliver Anthony, living in the new world is hard. The things that have been changing so fast, none of it good; I was worried that Rodeo would have changed as well. Honestly I should have know better. That will never happen. Us CowFolks are just a different breed. Anyways..... What I saw was people with heart. Parents sitting under tents together. Kids standing and TALKING to one another. Mind you, these kids are competing against each other. When their friends ran, guess who I heard hollering, besides the parents. You guessed, they were cheering for one another. Helping them in the runs. Not one concern that because of that, they may loose to them. Y'all my heart could burst.
I can only aspire to learn from these kids.. To not be selfish like them. To not be insecure with who I am and just Love. Love one another. Innocence is not all gone. And I whole heartedly believe its because of Rodeo. Generations of Rodeo teaching new generations.
I really hope you enjoy seeing some highlights from the weekend. I know for me it brought back all the good memories.
